Virus-free vine cutting is grown in a test tube at Bosman Adama's Plant Improvement unit on November 9, 2021 in Wellington in the Coastal wine-making region of South Africa's Western Cape. The Bosman family has been practicing the art of grafting vines and growing quality grapes since 1888. Today the Bosman Adama nursery propagates and sells up to 10 million virus-free vines annually, offering some 100 different types of varieties and clones of both table and wine grapes, while the winery produces award-winning wines from the estate. Bosman is committed to sustainability in both its farming practices and social responsibilities, and in 2009 gave 260 permanent employed workers a 26% stake in the family-owned business through the Adama Trust in the largest land reform transaction in the history of the South African wine industry.
