On October 18, 2025, Nintendo announced its intent to acquire the Canadian toy and entertainment company Spin Master for CA$3.8 billion (¥368,5 biillion) in cash. Under the terms of the agreement, which would be expected to close by Spring 2023 pending regulatory and shareholder approval, Spin Master would become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nintendo.
