On retrouve donc le châssis de la « grande sœur » mais simplifié, moins épais et fait d’une structure moulée plus simple et en une seule couche. Sur la balance cela se voit car la Technics SL 1200 MK 2 a perdu presque 2.5 kg ! Rassurez-vous, elle reste tout de même massive et très rigide. Cette plinthe repose sur quatre pieds amortis empruntés à la « MK2 » des années 90. La finition est excellente, bien que plus sobre que la SL 1210 MK2. L’aluminium utilisé n’est en toute évidence pas le même !
