Samuel Gelston founded the brand Gelston's in 1930 in Ireland. After his untimely death, Henry James Neill took over the business in 1869 and today the company is successfully run by the fifth generation of the Neill family. This particular whisky was produced in collaboration between Johnny Neill and his cousin Sam Neill. Sam Neill is a very famous actor from Northern Ireland and also a gifted winemaker. The Pinot Noir casks used for maturation are from his vineyard in New Zealand.
